AM I TOO OLD TO EXERCISE?

Of course not!

‘Age’ is never a reason to not do something.

Exercise is important for all ages and you are never too old to start something new. This includes exercise. No matter your age, you can achieve great results through exercise.

Whatever age you are, do whatever you want to do, and have fun doing it

DO I NEED TO SEE MY DOCTOR BEFORE BEGINNING THE EXERCISES?

Yes, to give yourself peace of mind and to get the all-clear before you begin exercising, make sure you see your doctor or Health Professional

HOW MUCH EXERCISE SHOULD I DO EACH SESSION?

Everyone has different capabilities. What’s right for one person, may be different for another,

If you are new to exercises or haven’t exercised in some time, start with less exercise and gradually increase the duration over time.

HOW FREQUENTLY SHOULD I EXERCISE?

Three days per week allows one day in between to rest and recover from the exercises.

This is a great way to get your body get used to exercise without pushing yourself over the limit.

DO I NEED SPECIAL CLOTHING?

No - wear what you’d like, any comfortable clothing will be just fine. Some feel more motivated when getting dressed up in exercise gear however, so do what works best for you!

DO I NEED TO WEAR SHOES WHEN EXERCISING?

For safety reasons, wearing shoes is recommended. This is mainly due to increased chances of slipping, or if using weights, injury from dropping the weight on the toes. However, it is not necessary!

Many people prefer doing the exercises without shoes and there are benefits in going barefoot! So practice good judgement when doing this and you will be just fine.

I recommend everyone walks around barefoot each day for some time, if this is possible, for the benefits one can gain. (see feet exercise video).

I NOTICED YOU USE THE ARMRESTS IN SOME EXERCISES IN YOUR VIDEOS, MY CHAIR DOES NOT HAVE ARMRESTS, WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Although having armrests on your chair, will make doing certain exercises more effective, having a chair with armrests is not essential.

There are alternative ways to do the exercises that use the armrests.

The most common exercise using armrests is the triceps push, this can be done by pushing off the front of the chair as demonstrated in this exercise here.

I SEE OTHERS DOING THE EXERCISES AND DOING SO WELL, I FEEL I AM NOT CAPABLE, WHAT SHOULD I DO?

You are more than capable to achieve great results with exercise. Everyone is! (yes, everyone). This includes you!

Stop comparing yourself to anyone else. All that matters is you are making improvements, no matter how big or small that may be.

From now on, the only person you’re comparing yourself to is…. You! Results will come!

Consistency is the most important when it comes to exercise. Stay positive and stay consistent!

It gets easier! Stick to it!

WHAT SIZE OF ANKLE WEIGHTS DO I NEED?

What I recommend with the ankle weights is to purchase some adjustable ones. If you Google "adjustable ankle weights" you will find ones ranging in weight and you can start lighter and work your way up, without having multiple sets. The weights can be added or taken off.

I recommend starting light to learn the exercises, and when you find the exercises too easy you would increase the increments, over time.
